Nice hike with great ocean views! Acadia mountain was a rocky and interesting trail and man o war was basically flat.

Amazing trail with awesome views! Definitely go CLOCKWISE (the left trail at the road and take a left at the intersection two minutes after the road). This way is a big of a steeper descent but you get to see the gorgeous view in front of you all the way down. This way mostly just has steps all the way up and is veryyy quick to the top. We were so disappointed with how crowded it was at the “summit,” but don’t even stop at the first lookout, there are so many more! As you go down there are countless little spots to stop off where you have your own space and can enjoy the view. Great trail I loved it, very quick for regular hikers.

Awesome trail. Steep with lots of steps but well worth it. Variety of rocky outcroppings and forested areas.

Recommend going clockwise on the loop trail to see the views ahead if you. The descent however is challenging and lengthy. Easiest route is clockwise up and counterclockwise down.

We went clockwise. The best part of the trail is clearly from the summit down to the Man O War (or reverse). I could see it being fun either way. Going clockwise was nice because you always had the view in front of you, but counter-clockwise would have been a really fun climb. Make sure you bring a bathing suit and checkout the Echo Lake Ledges. It's only about a 3 foot ledge, but was super fun to jump in. That's a nice reward at the end of short, but taxing, hike.

I almost took man o war up as I don’t like going down as much and it’s a longer trail, but I’m glad I didn’t. The views going down man o war are great. Steep but quick hike leading up to the summit. Awesome views. The way down was long and the last bit was a boring road. Overall perfect little morning hike and not as many people as I had expected.

Great trail, we went clockwise which gave us great views. There are vertical scrambling areas on the way down that would be difficult for dogs but doable if you’re creative.

Beautiful views, no crowded and perfect in length! A little tricky for our 75lb golden retriever in 1 or 2 spots, but we were able to navigate and help him through safely! Definitely recommend this loop!

Great hike. Some scrambling at the start and down the mountain but worth it for the views. First time hiking with our eight month old - she loved it in the Osprey Poco.

This was the first trail my husband & I & my 16-year-old daughter chose to do upon entering Acadia & it was worth every step! We went up the “steep side“ as you will see and be able to choose right at the trail head. The views at the top are spectacular and honestly it was a fun scramble coming down. We got to use our arms and enjoy the views!
