Beautiful hike but can be tricky to find trail head. Google map to Rock Falls Trail will get your close but to wrong location. Once on Hwy 8 go past the private road that google maps wants to take you to... keep going on HWY 8 (oh a mile or so) until you see brown sign on left that says Sonny Gilbert WMA with arrow to right.. you’ll turn right and take the gravel road past the little flea market for about 1/4-1/2 mile where there’s a place to get a check-in slip and then keep going about a mile to a pavilion area where trailhead is located. Narrow gravel road a little tricky if someone is coming from opposite direction.

HikingGreat!

One of the best hikes Louisiana has to offer. Marked pretty well,al and even though it doesn't seem like it's hiked all that often, the trail seemed to be a decent condition. Offers it all for the deep south...terrain chy, rock, streams and waterfall.

Easy trail. Directions to trail location are off. Turn by flea market - stay on gravel road for a good bit.

Tried to locate the trail. But the directions provided on all trails kept taking me to no existing roads are people's private driveways. How did others reach the trail?

I enjoyed this trail. The waterfall is not far from beginning of trail. There are some steep downhills as well a inclines.

The area is really nice. Some larger trees have fallen and knocked down trail markers, so we had to look hard to pick the trail back up as the is a lot of underbrush and the trail is a little grown up. I would recommend taking something to help clear it a little bit more for the time being. Overall the trail is pretty easy, but probably needs to be remarked due to the downed markers.

We've been doing this trail for years now. The kids all love it. I love how they've improved the area. Now, if they could just get people to stop leaving their trash, that would be great. We always practice LNT principles Not only do we pack out what we pack in, we pack out other people's trash as well.

Rock Falls trail in Sicily Island, Louisiana. Tallest waterfall in Louisiana at 17 feet. Didn’t quite record the whole trail but taking the shortcut route is about 1/2 mile. Really steep hills!
