Nice quick hike before sundown. Went with 2yo and 4yo. You can bring a stroller. Nice Louisiana views. The decks are getting dated and a few boards out.

First to Review

Beautiful trail at Grand Cote NWR near Marksville. There's no charge to enter, but there is a point on Island Road just before you get to the trail where you have to pull off and sign a check-in permit. The trail is partially paved, but the spur is not. Around 0.3 miles, there is a beautiful boardwalk that goes to an overlook where you can look out over some farmland where a variety of bird species can be spotted. Very nice short hike and definitely worth checking out.
