Clyde Fant Memorial Parkway Trail is a 13.3 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Bossier City, Louisiana that features a river and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, bird watching, and road biking and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
Accessibility: This asphalt, brick, and concrete trail is estimated to typically be at least 6 feet wide. AllTrails uses have noted that the pavement is bumpy in some parts. The slope may be very steep in one section and is estimated to range from -11% (downhill) to 14% (uphill) grade. This steep to very steep section is located at the 4.1 mile mark. There are ADA-compliant car parking spots with access aisles at the large paved lots around the Aquarium and Regional Visitors Center by the trailhead. There are several other paved lots along the route, especially at Stoner Street and at the trails end.
It was easy to find where the trails is but it was hard and confusing to where it goes
we biked end to end and the whole family enjoyed it (kids 4-8) youngest was on a tag along but it was easy enough everyone else rode themselves. The south end does not have shade so we felt the 88deg sunshine and there is still on spot that was washed out that you have to go around. Otherwise, it was a great afternoon ride.
great ride, grassy trail around the wash out spot. beautiful views. some gravel patches. don't swallow a dragonfly.
Very good paved walking path. From River Park to Hamel Park is over 5 miles, marked off every quarter mile. Trail has washed out just south of the railroad overpass between I-20 and Stoner Skate Park. Trail also floods about a mile south of the Skate Park parking lot. North end is under good shade for much of the day; southern end can put you out in the sun for long stretches. Another trail from a parking lot off of Stoner to the west side of Clyde Fant northward to the railroad tracks is also a fun, comfortable one-mile jaunt.
Parked at the Eldorado Casino Shreveport and rode South along Red River to where the paved trail ends.
This trail is a fully paved very easy trail. It's great for walking, jogging, or riding a bike. There are trees on one side and a road on the other. The Red River can be seen from some parts of the trail which is nice. This is not a forest or wilderness trail. It's very enjoyable for a casual stroll.
