Arthur Teague Trail is a 9.1 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Bossier City, Louisiana that features a river. The trail is good for all skill levels and primarily used for walking, trail running, and mountain biking. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
Nice paved trail. Well maintained. Good view of river in some locations!
Not sure about the stated length of 9.1 miles... the signage along the trail list it as only 6.6 miles. Still, this is a fine asphalt walking path along the Red River, beginning at a casino parking lot and ending at a wildlife refuge (which has numerous short (under 1 mile) hiking paths around a small lake). Expect a ton of traffic all along this path on weekends, it is popular. A pedestrian bridge crosses Teague Parkway, connecting this trail to the huge CentuyLink parking lot and adjacent park (2 small concrete loops, and ponds with fountains and ducks, well maintained). The only two downsides... this path runs very close to the road at a few locations. Expect traffic noise and a few exhaust fumes. And there is little in the way of shade along the east side of the path. If you go on a sunny morning, you may need sunscreen if you plan on tackling several miles. Best use is mostly cloudy mornings, or evening hours when the foliage on the west side of the trail can provide some comfort.
