Hike around the lake, suspension bridge, paved walkway, camping area Vastwood Park is a 340 acre park with a 19 acre lake as its centerpiece. This loop trail takes you around the entire lake. The trail is paved, and offers very gentle, rolling terrain. There is a suspension bridge over part of the lake, built for foot traffic only. The trail will take you past a swimming area, beachhouse and the campsite (12 sites with electric and water). There is a graveled spur trail that leads you up a hill, which offers a very lovely view of the park and of the surrounding forested terrain. The spur trail is the only significant elevation gain of the hike.

This trail is actually 1.2 miles. I visit it regularly. It is a paved walkway good for wheel chairs, strollers, etc. there are some grade changes but minimal and easily manageable. A pretty view around the lake, usually just squirrels running around, not usually a lot of other wildlife around

Pretty view of the lake while walking. The park is clean. There is a pizza place toward the back of the park.

Great trail for an easy walk. I recorded my walk along the trail that goes around the lake and it recorded 1.1 miles.

The trail is actually more like 1.2 miles. In some places the tree roots have buckled the pavement. Not very well lit on the backside of the trail. Because of that reason I will only run this trail during daylight hours. It is however, a very clean & pretty park.
