Was a fun day hike for the family. Checked out all the overlooks prior to going down stairs to the scuttlehole. Beautiful country as always. Never a bad hike in our opinion but this is a must for someone who's never seen it.

We combined this hike with the Dutch Branch Trail through the connector spur at the scuttle hole and it was great! Probably one of my favorite hikes in the area. The main trail has three overlooks and is an easy short hike. There is a nest of bees on the second overlook so just be aware. The Dutch Branch loop has a seasonal waterfall, boulders, a rock house, and lots of interesting plants. The last part of the loop was a little overgrown with ferns, but it was still a nice area. We went after a few rainy days so lots of mud, but if only doing the main Scuttle Hole trail it won't be much a problem.

Good hike. Short in and out. Lots of stairs to the scuttlehole. We encountered a nest of bees at the second overlook. Dogs did well but no water on the trail for them.

Absolutely loved this trail!!! so much to see! There were a lot of cascades and waterfalls today because of all the rain. It was extremely muddy in some areas and some of the stairs had rotted out so be careful scrambling down the hill. Definitely a great short hike. But the description says 1.5 miles and total for us was 3 miles. We did one of the overlooks but that didnt account for the extra mile and a half.

This trail is amazing. I’d give it a 10 star rating if I could. Not a long hike but there’s so much to take in that you can easily spend half your day here. It’s got everything you want from the outdoors. Overlooks, nice rock formations, running water and streams, and if timed right a pretty nice waterfall right off the trail. This is a must for anyone using this app.
