This is a very good intermediate bike trail. At the beginning there is a warm-up course with a variety of obstacles from drops to jumps.

Great trail. I need to build my stamina during COVID-19 & loved the gentle elevation. Beautiful trails & not crowded. All were practicing social distancing when you did encounter someone.

Great trail for all ages. Saw many people biking on it as well so it is very inclusive to multiple activities. Great for dogs also!

Did Eagle trail today. Stairs down, kind of steep. Can get to Fern Trail, Stream Trail, and tranquility trail from here. Nice views of the stream.

Prepare to be confused and get turned around multiple times due to unnecessary twists and turns if following the trail provided. We had to cut across multiple trails to try and stay on the correct path. I can see how this would be fun for Mountain Biking, but not so much for hiking. There were no water views on this particular trail but if you keep driving beyond the trailhead there is a beautiful reservoir and a short trail loop circling a body of water along with quite a few springs and scenery. That alone made the trip worth it.

Lot of the trails connect but they are very well marked and it’s easy to find your way back. The section I was on had many stairs and could be steep. Many benches to rest on throughout. I especially enjoyed taking pics of various wildflowers I came across.

My family was not impressed with the trails here. They’ve taken a short hike and zig-zagged it to stretch it out. Lots of trails ran parallel or intersected with poor markings, which made it very hard to follow. Not a scenic hike. But trails did look great for mountain bikers!

This was a pretty easy trail, I wouldn’t consider it moderate. Hiked in early March so it’s just very Grey and not much to see.

Trail conditions were good. Almost got hit by a deer. Weather was amazing ....on the downhill runs , you caught a nice cool breeze. If you go ....check out Hellfire trail and the elevated sections. I AM GROOT...

Great nature preserve with a lot of cool sights. One downside is that the trails have been GREATLY expanded in the last few years and sometimes there are TOO many trails running next to each other, intersecting, and winding around. You end up going backwards a lot and walking in circles, making you think you might be lost. Not terrible, but it can be a bit much at times.

This trail system has a little something for everyone. The trails contain a skills park, wood features, scenery, wildlife, bridges, log crossings, rock gardens and other technical features. The perimeter trail is easy enough for new riders but challenging enough to entertain nearly any rider. You can always ride it the opposite direction and it is like a whole new trail. Improvements are constantly being made and the majority of the trail drains well.

So this was my first time checking out Saunders Springs. The trails seem to be in good condition. A few nice jump spots down on the far end of the perimeter trail. Even some nice log piles and technical areas to maneuver thru. The hill coming back up is a good pump. I will definitely be going back. I am Groot...!!!

We actually started on the permitter trail but didn’t like it at all. We did see a deer but other than that, this trail is so boring. Lots of switchbacks, spiderwebs and the mosquitos are the worse I’ve ever seen. We quickly jumped off after doing about 1 mile on it, drove to the bottom and did the stream, tranquility and lake trails.. loved them! Beautiful scenery, waterfalls, cave and wildlife. Check out my photos. We did a little over 3 miles. When you pull in to the park you will see the cabins, stop and visit, then drive to the very bottom (down a very steep hill), that’s where all the good trails are in my opinion.

Good family trail and decent mileage but lots of road noise. Part of the trail runs along the backside of Fort Knox so kinda cool but the fence and barbed wire takes you out of nature a bit. Lots of deer sightings as well.

Stopped by the waterfall and chilling

Great water features.

Visiting from out of town and was happy to find these great wooded trails very close to Elizabethtown. There are spurs and alternate trails and old roads so it is not just a single obvious route around the lake. Signage could be a little better, or at least a map at the trailhead would be an awesome enhancement, but the area is small enough to keep your bearings if you view the AllTrails map before you start. No parking area at the main trailhead, so I just parked on the roadside. Better place to park roadside at an unmarked access point just down the road from the official trailhead. Nice place for a short trail run or some hiking. Can also fish in the lake.

A handful of trails to choose from at various lengths. On warm days I bring the kiddos here to play in the water.

Chose to hike the perimeter trail for rest day. Great trail and is definitely longer than AllTrails has it listed as. However, Saunders springs has it listed as a 10k but I think the mile markers may be off. I used my GPS and didn't take any short cuts but my tracking came out to be just short of 5.4 miles. Will attempt again next time.

Ran this last week, they made some changes to the Perimeter trail and turned it into a 10k. Lots of switch backs but perfect for anyone stay at Fort Knox who wants to get of the flat track. Bring your sandals and hop in the nice cool water once your done!
