Entire loop very sloppy . Snow and slick conditions made this hike a bit more challenging. Definitely a difficult trail. Nice views at the top

Great hike up to an awesome view. A local dog “guided” us all the way to the top and back down.

Nice trail. It is a constant and gradual straight up incline. I would definitely pace yourself or you will wear yourself out quickly.

Pretty much straight up but manageable. The view was very nice on a partly cloudy day, Friday October 23, 2020. This is a must do hike that is outside Clay City and I believe the peak is higher than any in the RRG which is about 20 minutes away. Didn’t attempt the loop as the hike started late in the day and storms were forecast for late afternoon.

It’s hard to capture the beauty of looking out at all that Kentucky Wild. Absolutely breathtaking. The overlook is relatively a small platform but it’s great when you’re the only one up there. Easy trail, of course there’s a climb, but remember what goes up must come down.

Great trail! Love it. Got to the top at a decent overlook, thinking it was the top, but then kept going and find the beautiful overlook at the very end! After you pass the first overlook, for a minute or two it’ll seem like you are descending again but then you’ll start going back up. Lots of bugs buzzing around, I’d recommend bringing spray.

Nice, fairly easy hike although we did it after a rainy evening so many branch’s and small stones were wet and could easily have caused a big fall. The view is why to do this hike. It’s a huge payoff for such a short hike. Enjoy!

Walk in Boone’s footsteps as he see’s the Kentucky Blue Grass Region for the first time after clearing a path thru the wooded hills and mountains of NC, TN and Kentucky! He blazed a path in 1775 called a by a number of names over time; Boone’s Trace, The Wilderness Road and Warriors Path. Daniel Boone opened the west to thousands of settlers looking for a better life. The Pinnacle at Pilot Knob is called Boone’s overlook!

Descent workout up the hill. Beautiful creek on the way in. Lots of great mushrooms. When I got to the top there were some hawks circling low to the tree tops.

Took the Quarry trail and made it back to the shelter at the trailhead just before an awesome downpour occurred. my 8 year old lives waiting out the rain amd then finding all the waterfalls that aren't waterfalls unless it's raining lol.
