Nice trail. Great views.

I wouldn't call this one easy. More of a moderate-strenuous. Lots of ups and downs, very rocky and cliffy. It was very wet due to very large amount of rain Saturday, but that helped to have running falls and cascades. I enjoyed it very much.. I seen deer 50ft away from me, watched a hawk try for a fish and lots of mushrooms and creepy crawlies. Only down fall, foliage blocks the best views of waterfalls, so spring or winter to see the best.

Great 3mi loop in Grayson Lake State Park. Trail head is by the basketball court near the campground entrance. Thankfully they put up a new trailhead sign! Loop is well marked and well maintained. A nice walking stick is recommended as you'll encounter numerous spider webs across the trail, especially if you're the first one out that day. Follow the orange blaze markers to stay on the trail. The falls are really worth the hike, especially after a good rain. The first "half" of the trail(up to the falls) is a little boring. Some nice wildlife sightings occasionally, but nothing special. After passing the falls though, the trail follows the lake closely and you get some wonderful views of the lake and the rock cliffs surrounding it.

Okay so first of all I was confused on how to get to the trailhead. So you arrive into Grayson lake state park and head towards the campground, right after the golf course on the right a sign that says trails will lead you to trail head. You will have to endure TONS of spiderwebs and ticks if you embark on this trail. You have been warned. It is a loop but easy to miss the detour that makes it a loop. I got lost and the only other person I passed on the trail was also lost. I didn’t see any falls but I’m guessing at different times of the year the “falls” is where I was misled, I eventually found my way. Pretty much make sure you are following the orange markings on the trees. If you have arrived at a dirt road you’ve gone too far. To me it was not worth it because of the ticks and spiderwebs. If it weren’t for those 2 caveats it would have been a nice, easy hike.

Really enjoyed this trail. Lots of spiderwebs tho.

Great views, very well marked trail, not a hard hike at all but definitely worth the trip.

Beautiful hiking trail with lots of rock cliffs, waterfalls as well as different birds to watch. I recommend this trail :)

Took my sister back for a day of hiking while the guys golfed, we loved it. At the point where the stream crosses a solid rock , the trail goes to the left and a 4 wheeler road goes through the creek bed, go to the right, you can actually see the falls from this side. Just be sure to back track to the trail. The view is amazing.

This was a tough hike not at a easy level. I would rate it moderate level. Beautiful scenery along the lake and mountain laurels.

Regular hike of ours. Plenty of beautiful spots. Although, think twice about bringing small children and pets. The last part of trail over looking the lake is very close to the edge of the cliff. Other than that, would totally suggest.

I would highly recommend this trail early spring or fall, the lack of foliage allows peak visibility of lake views. Better chance of water fall in the spring season. The trail was clearly marked with orange blaze, trees had been recently cut out of the path and we thought it was very well maintained. As novice hikers it was a perfect trail for us!

The trail was not taken very good care of. Some spots the weeds were above my knees. Bring tick repellent. And I mean the high dollar stuff. We had some on and within 20 minutes we had picked over 10 off from us. I've never had so many on me at one time in my life.

Fun trail with great views of the lake and beautiful falls. Very well marked trail, except for the trailhead sign. It shows an arrow left for the trail leading to the campground and an arrow right for the Lick falls trail and also has a triangle (which I assume is meant as an arrow pointing forward) for the "loop" trail. Follow the triangle forward and you will quickly see the orange trail markers. If you go to the right you will come to the golf course. The trail was well maintained and clean. Overall a very enjoyable trail and the falls are a great place to stop for a break and eat.

Loved the hike but it is far from being an easy hike! I found this hike to be a moderate hike. Definitely not a hike you should take if you are not use to hiking! We enjoyed our trip and the views were breath taking! Well worth the trip! Just want to make sure you know it's not an easy hike.

My dog and I had a good time with this trail. The markings get a bit confusing half a mile in but once you get back on track it's easy to follow the rest of the way.

The combination of the canopy of trees and the breeze off of the lake made it pretty cool. I wouldn't recommend this 3 mile loop to a first time hiker but it is certainly beginner friendly.

Do NOT put Lick Falls into Google search then use their map directions. You will windup down a dirty road meant for jeeps. Not good. Use AllTrails directions and go to Grayson Lake golf course. Campsite at end of drive. After guard building turn left then go to far back right camping culdesac. Trailhead sign is on right out of site at start of culdesac. Someone change trail name on sign to Lick Balls (from Falls). Trail is marked in blue for about mile. Intersects with Yellow marked trail to leading down to falls. Best view of falls is from a boat.

Great fun!! Could use a little cleaning up though!

The surrounding wilderness is incredibly beautiful "Loved the waterfalls". However, the trail markings are way too large on the trees. It appears as if someone painted the blazes with little regard, almost to the point of vandalism. It seems the campgrounds and golf course has the primary attention of the maintainers. Also, a bit of garbage seems to be thrown about the trail system. This trail has great potential, it just needs some TLC.

Beautiful views!

Great trail to be on! Saw some wildlife! Be careful of spiders, there are plenty of webs about. Unfortunately the water at the falls due to water levels. Some great views of the lake, however it would be nice to have some benches around the trail with lake views to sit and enjoy the views!

The 1st half of this trail is definitely not as exciting as the 2nd half. But the 2nd half is well worth the wait. I never knew how beautiful Grayson could be. Trail is well marked and a pretty easy hike. The waterfall is definitely a seasonal waterfall but its a beautiful area nonetheless. Thoroughly enjoyed it & looking forward to kayaking it next time!

This trail starts slow but ends with a bang! Hang in for the big pay off, it's worth it.

First part of the trail was not so great, but it got better. The lake was beautiful. We saw a few deer and 3 snakes. Overall it was a very nice hike.

The trail leads to a small waterfall in the woods. The waterfall itself isn't incredibly impressive, the trail offers a point of view from nearly on top off the falls, so you don't get the greatest view of it. However, the trail does offer great sights alongside Lake Grayson which make the hike worth your time.
