Knob Top trail can be hiked as either an out and back or as a point to point connector between Lake Nevin Loop, Two Ponds Loop, and Nursery Loop. It is more difficult than the other trails in the Arboretum section of Bernheim, but is shorter than most of the trails in the natural forest area. It is very lightly trafficked and even on busy days very few people use this trail. Since it is in the Arboretum section, it is open 30 minutes-1 hour later than the other natural forest trails. It is a short trail and part of the trail corresponds with an old logging or fire trail. At one end of the trail is a large plaque with a quote on it.
