I really enjoyed this beautiful trail. It follows a rocky stream most of the way. It’s shaded well. This trail has lots of rocks and roots and very steep at times so I wouldn’t recommend this for someone who is out of shape or has balance issues. My three year old enjoyed it but I ended up carrying him on my shoulders most of the way so just know the toughness of the trail can be challenging for little legs. I’d love to go back.

Beautiful trail in the woods leading down into other trails. Sometimes the markings were confusing on the trail as many intertwine. A little muddy and pretty rocky/roots.

The weather was perfect and the trail is well marked. Recommend that you go early; by the time we finished the hike the parking lot was over flowing and it was extremely packed.

We hiked this trail on Monday, May 25. It was slightly muddy, which made the more steep inclines and declines more challenging. Still a great hike with beautiful water feature views.

Great, moderate trail with a good combination of hilly and level areas. Beautiful streams and a couple of small waterfalls near the parking area. Lots of good photo-op spots. Part of the trail has a pretty good drop-off right next to it. Some loose rocks, so be careful not to turn an ankle. Our dog loved it, and so did we!

We almost didn't get to hike this trail (which is located inside Cove Springs Park) since the official hours of the park are sunset to sunrise, but we arrived at 7:30, and the park still wasn't open. However, we first did some hiking across the street (about a mile loop), which is still part of of the park, but outside the main area, and then visited the main entrance again, and it was open. So the hours may be a little unpredictable. Once we arrived, though, we hiked the Holly and Osage Loop and thought this was a great hiking experience. There was enough elevation to make the hike a workout, but nothing to make it exhausting. There was lots of wildlife (deer, raccoons, turkeys, insects) throughout, and lots of different terrain as well. Better yet, this park is literally just outside Frankfort, so if you are staying in Frankfort, you can probably get here in 10 minutes or less.

Went over lunch time while at a seminar just to get my nature fix. Very rocky in spots but trail goes well into the woods even though it’s a hop and a skip from busy roads. Waterfalls, creek views, easy paved trail in open field or tougher climbs in the woods. Nice getaway close to town.

Pretty well marked trail (with the exception of “The Maze” topside near the Archery Park). This is kind of the go to trail for Frankfortians. Easily accessible with good parking and well maintained trails. Chester Moore taught me how to operate a bulldozer here behind the dam many years ago, so it’s kind of a special place for me.

Good options for long trails or easier trails. We took the long trail and it was a good workout and along a creeks for parts.

This is a short hike with little to no traffic. Only challenge, if you could call it that, is the only climb in elevation after the open fields. It’s also dog friendly.

Great loop to just get out and enjoy a brisk walk. Enough to test the fit of a pack before hitting longer trails.
