Nice day for hiking, trail was in great shape. This is a popular trail so it was very busy. Echo River Springs section was still closed as of 11-21-20.
This was a great trail. We did a family outing and I carried my grandson in a sling which I believe he enjoyed. I and proud of the entire Family for completing and hope we all continue to get out there on a regular basis. Celebrated completion with Pho Soup at Boba Lounge in BGKY. Great Day!
Great day for hiking. The trail was kept up and well marked. Not too buggy and not a ton of people out. The trail to Echo River Spring was closed from both ways, so we ended up improvising and did just over 6 miles instead of the 4.5 miles. We preferred the trail on the Green River side as it was more remote and a bit more challenging.
nice trail, plenty of sights. daughter and I had good time. definitely going back when cooler and leaves have fallen. lookouts will be incredible.
Been there for Spring break 2018. Loved the trail , this is the 1st trail i did in my life and is Moderate difficultly with elevation changes. I wish to visit again in summer, when trees are with leaves. There are a few bridges , walk on banks of river in valley and then there is gradual climb
This is the main loop covering all sections of the Heritage Trail network that connects to the hotel and Welcome Center. The Green River Bluff Trail is a higher-elevation area with large hardwoods and a few distance views of the river valley. The Echo Springs Trail continues along the River bottom via a network of boardwalks to a parking lot beside the Green River Ferry. The Sinkhole Trail takes you past the Mammoth Dome Sink through an uphill forested path. The Heritage Trail is part of the more gentrified boardwalk and pavement paths that connect various areas surrounding the hotel. The Western sections of this hike are really pretty, but I’m not a fan of the areas that weave in and out of the park’s infrastructure.
It’s a pretty trail so I’m giving it for but it almost got three stars. All of the overlooks are completely overgrown and the area where the trail that goes near Echo Springs is completely closed off due to construction. You are supposed to take the river valley cut over to bypass it. Very hot and humid right now but not too bad mosquito wise.
