Echo River Spring Trail is a 3.1 mile lightly trafficked loop trail located near Mammoth Cave, Kentucky that features a river and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking and walking and is accessible year-round.
This trail that takes you pass two springs and to the banks of the Styx river before returning to the trail. The trail is heavily wooded and a moderate incline. It connects the River Styx Trail to the Mammoth Dome Sink Trail.
Very accessible trail, felt like a light to moderate difficulty. Gravel all through and boardwalks over any difficult terrain, which it seems is to be expected on heavily trafficked national park trails. This time of year the woods are filled with beautiful yellow daffodils. What I liked most about this trail was knowing I was hiking right above a huge cave. There were several entrance points and a sink hole that were very interesting! Also, Sunset Point is just a short aside from the main trail and is a beautiful overlook of the park.
Moderate loop trail. Lots of changes in elevation.
A pretty mostly wooded trail by the Green River that takes you out to the southern end of the Mammoth Cave NP Visitor Center trail system.
Beautiful trail with river access. Not too many people when I was on this trail. Pretty area to visit.
the trail was very well maintained absolutely beautiful
Very easy hike with nice views. Deer will get fairly close to you and pose for pictures. A park ranger told me that it was because some people feed them.
Nice views above the River Styx. Well maintained and easy hike.
Easy hike and an introduction to what Mammoth Cave has to offer. Surprisingly little traffic for the location at the times I've gone.
pleasant walk through the woods. Not a destination, but worth a peak.
