Moderate hike along the Cumberland River with plenty of views of Cumberland falls. Angels falls is awesome. Definitely worth the hike

Beautiful walk right alongside roaring Cumberland falls the whole way. Definitely go for a swim. It’s plenty deep and not too many rocks in the way. Went on Friday afternoon around 6pm and there was only one other family there. A few people had just left.

This is a fun trail. It has just enough rocks and cooling water to keep you eager to see around the corner. Has steps and steps and steps going straight up at times. It’s a well worth it hike. Longer than 2 miles if you go up to the Gorge and down to the pool at the bottom of the falls.

Hiked this trail with a big group, age range of 2-60. Moderate is a good label for this trail. It wasn't too bad, but if you aren't in shape or have trouble walking, this might not be the trail for you. Lots of stairs and once you get down to the falls, you have to climb over rocks. Our 3 year old ran most of the way to the falls and was fine. The hike out is a bit harder, but totally worth it. Bring a suit and water shoes to cool off at the waterfall. We also enjoyed all the views from the opposite side of the main falls area.

Amazing trail. Make sure you continue onto Eagle Falls. If it’s hot. Bring a suit to cool off. And go early it was a bit crowded. When coming from the Falls, there’s very little parking by the trailhead. Additional parking up a short hill.

Great trail, pay attention to sounds as well as sights! The echo of Cumberland Falls on the cliff faces, the trickle of tiny mountain streams... Steep steps down to eagle falls but the sight was worth it. Go early, it got a little buggy and crowded by mid morning.

Great trail. It has rained good for few days the falls were roaring. Skeeters are bad and so are the horse flys. Seen a few snakes. 1 Copperhead.

Beautiful trail, one of my favorites. Offers views of both the main Cumberland falls and up close and personal with eagle falls. There is some elevation change but a couple places to rest along the way. I would recommend doing the full loop around because views of the stream it follows are great- makes it about 2.5-3 miles

This seems to be the hike that is advised by most of the staff at the park. Parking area is extremely small so go early. Very well blazed and so pretty. I though the views of the main falls were prettier from this side of the river. This is short but strenuous. We are in our 50s and we were sweaty and tired but would do it again. We may try it in the Fall next time.

Kids had a great time hiking this trail. Lots of steps and climbing boulders but well marked. Kids enjoyed swimming at the falls.

This is a beautiful little hike. I would recommend doing the full loop if you come. You will get to view the top of the falls. The whole trail is beautiful and well marked.

Pretty hike with views of cumberland falls and eagle falls. It’s a small waterfall, I think dog slaughter is a little prettier and easier to get to though. This one is not bad on the way up, but hiking back up you have a lot of steps. Definitely gets your heart rate going.

Well marked and busy trail. Parking is limited so arrive early or hope to get lucky and find a spot. It was definitely longer than 1.8 miles. The state park signage says 2.5 miles and calls it strenuous. Lots of steps. When you see the stairs going down toward the river, the falls is that direction. Have to navigate across a sandy stretch through some small boulders to reach it. Eagle Falls is worth the effort and there’s a lot of room for wading near the falls. You also have great views of Cumberland Falls about halfway out the trail. Most people seemed to go straight out and back to the falls, but we did the full loop which added approximately a mile. It was nice but made for a longer hike.

Definitely agree with moderate in difficulty. Good amount of elevation change and stairs to get your heart going. Falls at the end are great, cools you off real quick. Couple nice views of Cumberland Falls shortly after you start too.

We’ve hiked this trail before the pandemic. We drove by it yesterday & it’s been reopened. I saw a group of people who were getting ready to go on it. It is a little strenuous.

Nice trial, went before all the virus. Little rocky and I notice some glass in the mix other than that I loved it.

Was a very nice trail kind of scary if you are afraid of heights but well worth it. Several paths that branch off and the trail kind of just stops. Just continue along the rocks and you will find it!
