Double Arch, Courthouse Rock and Auxier Ridge Loop is a 6 mile heavily trafficked loop trail located near Stanton, Kentucky that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, rock climbing, camping, and backpacking and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
From the trailhead go to double arch and then backtrack for about a half a mile. Then take the turn off for Courthouse Rock, follow it to Hay Stack. Then back to the trailhead. Very little backtracking and see three great Red River Gorge sites.
Great hike. All Trails had this measured at 7.5 miles. We did take an extra half mile side trail. Great views that just seemed to get better at every turn. Some strenuous climbs but they are never long and really made the hike a lot more fun.
Trail in decent shape considering all the recent rain and area flooding. Some down trees across trail in spots. Long section of trails were wet with water flowing across in spots, but not enough if you have decent boots - it actually made the hike unique and fun.
wonderful conditions, perfect weather, awesome food, impeccable company
Great trail- really nice in the winter to be able to see through the trees! Fairly easy to follow the markings. Great loop!
Loved it! Was an overcast day but not too chilly (Jan 3) slowly wandered around on top of the cliffs then started the trail down below and around to the arch. The return side back to the parking lot was dope, wandering around valley. I bet it’s beautiful I’m the fall!
Jan 18th 21 Overcast weather but great hike; very muddy. Good hiking boots are a must, id recommend a headlamp if you're starting late & be mindful of Sunset. Courthouse & Double Arches took me 2+ hours hoofin. Enjoy its fun out there!
Great hike, improved by getting there early enough (8:30am) so that mud was frozen and few people on this very popular route.
