Great rough trail. Not many trail markers. Crossed the water at one point so water shoes are a good idea.

I took my kids, 5 and 8 yo. Gravel part of trail easy. The other half very muddy! Quite dangerous. Lots of slipping and sliding. We ended up scampering down a hill and crossed the water to the gravel trail. The trail is marked with blue spray paint. It is an adventure. I would go back when it is dry.

HikingGreat!Muddy

I love this trail and will be back! The first half of the trail is pretty difficult. Good shoes are required as it is muddy and some parts are steep both up and down hill. There are three bridges that are not so well kept but can be navigated nonetheless. The second half was easy and on a gravel road. The lake is beautiful. We packed a small lunch and ate the picnic tables towards the end of the path. Very pleased with this trail!

Loved it, plan on coming back! I read many of the reviews giving it bad marks. To me it had much of what I like about a “hike.” It was challenging and yes it was in a few places muddy. The bridges were not that bad, u could always bypass them if u chose. What I liked most is for a beautiful fall Sunday there were very few people.

This trail is narrow not well kept and plagued by hillside run off and mudslides. All of the bridges are decayed and broken. Don't bring small kids on this trail and maybe reconsider bringing your dog.

Very difficult and muddy. Several times we had to grab roots to be able to find a step and prevent slipping. By the end our shoes were caked in mud. But we enjoyed the adventure. May be too difficult on your own. Trail is not well maintained.

Moderate to rough in spots. Then finishes smooth like a nice glass of whiskey. Good shoes and a trekking pole will help a lot, as trail is poorly maintained, unmarked throughout, and in disrepair. But it’s the perfect hike for good views, creek-walking, and exercise.

Parts of the trail were pretty treacherous. Ground is mostly clay and the south side of the loop has many very slick spots. Maintenance of bridges is non existent and there were some scary crossings or reroutes. Beautiful images of fall leaves and some nice water fowl. The north side of the loop is a very easy walk but the other half, not so much.

The South side of the loop is not well maintained. Even with a little moisture, it makes the one person trail very difficult to navigate

It’s a beautiful place to hike, but unfortunately the foot bridges are not maintained and got progressively worse as we went. We ended up turning around because one was virtually impassable.
