We made a loop out of it but skipped the double arch trail and came out on a gravel road. Very boring long road back to where we parked over all a great workout and the views are worth the work!

Great hike but a bit longer than listed! Took us about 3.5 hours and was about 8 miles

Favorite trail in gorge... would give more stars if possible, it’s so close to my heart. I usually complete the loop and take the gravel road back to the parking lot. Saw a few snakes last week. Beautiful in every season.

Made it a loop: started on the Auxier Ridge to Courthouse Rock to Double Arch and climbed back to gravel road to trailhead. 10/10, highly recommend. Bring water, a snack, and a curiosity to ponder the hundreds of millions of years to create such wonders!

There were parts of this trail that were not marked very well at all, especially around Courthouse Rock. The hike itself was very pretty. The breaks in the trees allowed beautiful views.

I did this trail for the third time yeaterday. It is beautiful! This trail can be made into a loop, which i prefer. Just backtrack from Doublearch until you get to the place where the trail splits. Theres a trail sign there. Instead of going back the way you came follow the other trail up and out of the ravine. Youll get to a gravel path/road. Go left and follow it out to the parking lot. When you get to the parking lot the trail head you started on will be just down to the left.

Fantastic views throughout the entire trail. Up and back is the perfect hike.

Great hike, challenging but worth the effort. We went counter clockwise as it starts heading towards the arch, which makes this a loop and not an out and back. Arch is great, If you go out there be sure to climb to the top and enjoy the nice 360 vista view. From there headed towards Courthouse Rock. Can be climbed to the summit but a fall would likely be fatal. Aux Ridge is spectacular, with several great views along the way. Pack a few snacks and plenty of water. T

Majestic Views Challenging trail

Great views. If camping in the valley between courthouse rock and double arch, watch for flash flooding. It’s obvious that parts of the trail would be inaccessible during rainy days. Although no rain during my stay, it was impossible to keep the fire going with everything being so damp. Great hike. I’ll return! The only complaint is that it’s definitely a popular trail, but it’s obvious why. The parking lot fills up quickly, and we had to park on the side of the road a ways down and walk to the trailhead.

The views on this backpacking trip are some of the best I've seen in The Red. You get to appreciate all its aspects from above, the climbing, the hiking, the forests, the arches, all can be found here on this well rounded trip.

A must if you are hiking the Red River Gorge for the first time. Unbelievable views and good distance if you do the loop.

Very scenic. Lots to see if you really look. The low grounds in the summer are nice. The views from the cliffs are beautiful. Not too difficult at all. Trail not marked too well for the walk back from Courthouse Rock.

Loved this hike. It is one of my favorites in RRG. Highly recommend. There are great views.

Great views, the top look out was a little crowed but bad. Looks like a good place to camp over night, could tell a few people had.

Stop by and climb Courthouse Rock as well and it's a perfect hike. Little bit of everything. Only complaint is it's a popular trail

Awesome hike. Lots of cliff side views. Slightly rugged. Amazing views. Good distance for a longer hike but not take all day. Lots of sights along the way!

Awesome views. I climbed to the top of Courthouse Rock and I'm not sure if I would do it again. You definitely have to trust your coordination to do this climb without rope and harness. The trail is awesome though.

Fantastic trail. Moderate difficulty. Love the wilderness and pine trails. Trail was well marked but we still got a little lost near the stairs by courthouse rock where auxier trail branches off. Had a great time despite how my legs feel!

I bouldered to the top of Courthouse Rock and the view is amazing!! The climb looks scary looking at it from the ground but it is so worth it once you make it to the top! An advanced climb up on top of the rock but the trail to it is fairly easy.
