When the trail crosses the main road near the paddle access, it’s unclear where the trailhead picks up again. A bit muddy, but we took the trail a day after heavy rain. Scenic and well maintained! Lots of shade for warmer days.

Fun moderate trail, but end not very clear per the map on this app. Didn't realize we'd be crossing roads with traffic to complete the loop, otherwise I'd give it 4 stars.

Great trail, but parts can be muddy after rain. Bikes, hikers, dogs, kids all use.

Great trail with inclines. Not well marked and very muddy. Looking forward to doing it again when it’s drier. Will be a great shaded trail when the weather warms up.

Close to the road so you do get road noise, it loops around and you do get a nice 2-mile hike, I started at the 1st parking lot and walked down to the trailhead. Cross a couple of creeks, you can add to the hike by walking part way around the lake. Since it’s winter the foliage is thin but I saw bluebirds and startled 4 deer.

easy trail but very muddy.

nice intermediate hike. took us 30 min moving at a brisk pace. the attendant said to make sure valuables are hidden as there have been a couple "smash and grabs" but good hike

Not a bad trail, just a bit rocky.

More trail markers would be great! Keep a hard copy map with you if your connectivity for the app is questionable. I don't get to a gym much, but while this trail made me sweat, I appreciate the consistent inclines.

Trail can be muddy, but it’s a solid loop that we have done multiple times with a 4 and 7 year old.

This trial gets super muddy but super fun and a great hike. Good for bikers, kids, dogs. Takes you back in the woods and then on the Louisville loop which is paved and shady. I have hiked this trail several times. Bugs can be a little bit of an issue sometimes but I mean hey your in the woods and around some pretty creek beds.

the amount of insects on this trail is unbearable. the whole time you're being pestered. Probably all the insects because how muddy it is

Muddy today because of rain last night, but all-in-all it’s a good hike. Easy to moderate hike with little elevation change. Its close to home which makes it a good option for a quick outing when time is short. Only possible downfall is some traffic noise within the park which is only as annoying as you allow it to be.

A lovely wooded trail. It's 2 main draw backs are that it takes only a little rain to become fairly muddy, and parts of the trail parallel the main park road

This was a nice trail to run while my son was at CAL watching a field hockey game. Parked at Beckley and took Louisville loop about .75 miles to trail head. Counter-clocked the trail and ran back to Beckley (last .5 mile hill back is a little tough) for a total run of about 3 miles or so. Trail was muddy in places a day after a little rain, but nicely maintained and few, if any, real tripping hazards. Nice vistas and varying terrain/features were a big surprise. Only water is at Beckley, unless you bring your own.

Great beginner trail.

Great shaded trail so close to town. I think it is closer to easy than moderate but I feel that way about a lot of trails.
