Absolutely loved it. Water was calm, made for easy paddling. there is no beach to swim so if that's what you want find a rock. Would love to go again.

Absolutely beautiful! Worth the paddle and faced some of my fears going through the cave-like area.

Do you think it would be safe to take an inflatable kayak tk the Grotto Falls? Is it deep enough? Is it to rocky?

Tried to hike the trail today but was unable to find where to start. Can someone please tell me where to start the trail at?

Alltrails didn't record the first mile. Ending was also the start. The secluded falls is very hidden. Keep going west, or straight when the main waterway turns right.

This is at Grayson Lake State Park at the Clifty launch area. The launch area is on the right side of the road. When you launch go right and paddle all the way to the end. Do not take any of the forks. It is hidden. It is the end of the lake. You can not miss it if you keep going back. You see many other beautiful little water falls on the way. I have went under all the falls in my kayak except for this one. All of the little forks do end eventually. It is worth going out all of them. I have kayaked this entire side in 2 trips and I must say it was worth it! I have nothing negative to say about the trip. It is my favorite place to kayak so far.

Great trip to a special place on the lake. allow yourself 2-2.5 hours round trip. Absolutely stunning scenery along the way and several water features as well.

Scenery is wonderful. But summer weekends feature crowds, motor boats, and loud partying on the water in earshot of the "hidden falls."

Such a great paddle trail and definitely worth it to see Grotto Falls. I believe there is another big waterfall further down clifty creek but I didn't have enough time to see it. If you listen closely while paddling along the river you can hear falling water all around and check out a bunch of smaller ones as well. The cliffs surrounding are gorgeous at sunset and the water is a beautiful clear emerald green. Download the trail to get best directions to the entrance of the cave, it's well hidden but if you go further into the cove you can't miss it. Go into the cave for about 100 ft and it'll open up into the grotto.
