Awesome easy trail. Easy to do with dogs. I echo what another hiker said, definitely start clockwise to hit the tougher inclines and wooded areas (still beautiful) first, and finish second have amongst beautiful river scenery. Beautiful day to hike and only passed one group on the loop, super peaceful hike. Very well maintained with fresh trail markings.

A nice easy loop trail in the DBNF at Cumberland Falls State Park. Recommend going counterclockwise and save the best features for the last part of the hike. This trail features a nice walk along a ridge line then descends to the Cumberland River. From there the remainder of the hike parallels the river. Some nice rock formations and small waterfalls along this sections. I highly recommend this hike!

Nice hike with approx. 30 gals from the Casey County Explorers on 10/29/19. The leaf variety of colors were bright this week.

nice trail other than there isnt much views of the river during the warm months. highly reccomend bug spray, I forgot mine and got attacked by mosquitoes the whole way.

Wonderful, quiet hike. The river slowly increases in volume and provides a lovely backdrop to the woods.

Not a bad trail overall. Quite a few blow downs near the Sheltowee Trace junction, otherwise clear. Was not expecting a 1/4 mile road walk at the end, but eh. Awesome place right down on the river to stop for lunch.

Excellent trail with well marked trails. Great views from the top of the mountain to the banks of the Cumberland River. Very easy after the first climb which is really not that hard. Makes a nice easy Sunday hike

Easy hike, runs along the river with a nice little rock to sit and enjoy the water about 1/2 way through.

This was a great hike, not too strenuous. I took my dog and she loved it. There are a few great spots along the river to walk on the riverbank. There are some trees down in a few areas and make it a little difficult to follow the trail, but as long as you follow the blazes you should be find.

Okay for a short family outing. Really not a lot of scenery. The river followed the trail the first half and that was cool. Really not a lot of places for camping.

Easy trail with a view of river

Easy trail for the whole family. Thick blanket of dead leaves on the trail so had to be carful with footing in places. Heard turkeys calling, but kids and dog so loud on trail there's no chance we would see anything.

Nice trail. Lots of great scenery. Spotted turkey along the trail. only drawback is walking the road back to the trail head parking area. Great rock formations made the hike even more enjoyable. We took some trail food, took our time and it took us about two hours to complete. Recommend for most everyone that hikes frequently.

Although the brochures lead you to believe that the beauty of this trail is the section that parallels the Cumberland River, it is actually the significant rock formations that provide the awe of this trail. They are amazing! We hiked this trail 1 week after the tornado, which resulted in a lot of flooding on the last section of the trail as the water had breached its banks significantly. This by no means put a damper on this hike. It was still great. The weather was a warm, sunny 50 degrees and even in the shade no jacket was required. This is rated an easy trail which seems to be fairly accurate.
