Walking

It was very good! Challenging at points which is what we were looking for. Very well-maintained and the sites were very pretty.

HikingGreat!Private property

Fun hike through restored prairie, through pin oak woods along the Smoky Hill River, past experimental plots of plants by the Land Institute, benches along the way, even old fashion swings suspended from a large tree. The full loop may be too long for young children. However it wouldn’t be too long if you go counterclockwise for the shortest walk to the swings. Thank you Land Institute.

Nice trail, easy to follow the arrows and mowed path. The trail goes across a field, up and down some small hills and along the river underneath the trees. Nice combination of sights.

It was a nice trail. You can take a stroller if it’s an off-road stroller. (Big thick wheels, good suspension, etc) it was kind of muddy and if you take a stroller make sure someone else is with you because there is one part we had to carry the stroller around 2 trees. Other than that it was a nice trail. Does have up hill and down hill parts so if you have issues going uphill it’s not for you.

Great easy- moderate trail. We really enjoyed this one! There are several cute little stops along the way, including one with tree swings, which the kids loved.
