Very nice trail, but beware of spider webs and black snakes, especially if you’re mountain biking. Rode on a Saturday and saw a few volunteers and Boy Scouts helping clear leaves from the trail!

The trail was not maintained at all. there were overgrown branches, weeds to your waist, and some big old erosion rugs. the trail lead us to a mile of overgrown weeds, where we eventually bailed to the above trail (think it was called linear) not sure if this trail is maintained by the city, by there is only 2.5 miles of semi rideable trail. really disappointed, as we drove 25+ from the campsite to get here. hope to comeback someday to ride the whole trail

Timber has been cleared off the trail. Very rideable. Thanks to someone who weed whipped. More weed whipping is needed on the southwest end if your looking for a volunteer opportunity.

Could’ve been a really nice trail if I didn’t inhale spider webs for the first .5 mile. I had to turn around and head back to the linear trail instead.

Great single track. There are a few dips and uphills and a handful of small technical aspects mixed in. The views of the river are great. On the way back to the north parking lot look for a short trail to a bench looking out to the river. There is a mailbox with a journal or two and you can leave a little note for the community.

Trail was good and had wonderful sites. Some people were very selfish and was not considerate of other people

I really like the trail for mountain biking but I feel it's not safe with all the homeless there. constantly got that feeling of getting mugged around the corner.

Great trail. Something new every time. Like to try biking it. Maybe later. Definitely an accessible and enjoyable trail. Pretty well maintained.

Good hike. A few bikes on trail and a few joggers. I will agree about 2/3 of the way there is a homeless encampment in the middle of trees.

Nice for brisk evening walk. It can get too tight at some spots. Kids need to be watched at all times.

Walked it no problem a few hours after several hours of heavy rain. Just a bit slick in a few places. Some really scenic spots, cotton tail rabbits, several massive (4’+) diameter trees.

Great scenic trail along the Kansas River. I hiked the trail and there were photo ops every step of the way. There were quite a few very steep inclines, which was nice. There was a large homeless encampment about 2/3 of the way through. 5.5 miles is pretty accurate and it does loop, which I didn't get from my brief look at it on Alltrails. I walked in expecting to go 11 miles total. (Even though it does say loop in the legend!

Fast loamy trails built into the banks of the Kansas River on the east side of Manhattan, Kansas. Trails do get a little swampy in the Spring and Fall, but otherwise they are fast and fun.

First to Review

Well maintained and allows you to build up speed. Some tricky sections with moderate challenges. There are two parallel tracks which together form a loop. Watch out for biker/hikers and sections of the trail which are not well maintained because they lead to sudden dead ends. The trail is mostly firm sand and sheds water well.
