The South Loop Trail offers the most spectacular views at Lehigh Portland Trails. The trail runs through cedar and hardwood forest, open grasslands, and along the edge of 30-foot bluffs of the 100-acre quarry lake. There are several places to stop and just take in the view before continuing.

Did the entire South Loop this weekend. Very fun trail, offers different scenery than you usually get in Kansas. There are offshoots to the trail that let you go down to the water. You can also cross 1650th to get to the cave trails via this trail, but it isn't marked well. I recommend visiting the website and looking at the different maps to the park to see how they all work together. There are so many trails in this park that connect, are skill alternatives to each other, and run along side each other; you should consider the trails as a whole system rather than individual trails to be done one at a time.
