Fun trail for families. Went in August and most of trail is overgrown. Few spots not clearly marked but navigable.

This was an awesome trail and I’d definitely go back! With that being said this was my first “real” hike and I found this pretty hard to navigate. If you want to follow this route exactly, take the purple “hikers only” trail. There are some pretty steep climbs but the view from the top of the red rocks is amazing! At some point the purple trail ends - or could just be my inexperience- but I ended up on the red trail and then the green to get back to the trail head. When you get to the canyon and marker 14, go up the not as steep rocky cliff, not the one that’s right in front of the marker if you want it to be easier. That is also when the ties in the brush turn to red. At some point it will split in two directions-choose the green to get back to the trail head. It is very very overgrown and there will be bugs all around you lol. Luckily I left with no ticks. I suggest bug spray and some other tick preventative to rub into your skin.

Awesome first experience, caves and other rock formations were well worth the effort to get there. At less than two miles, it’s well worth the hike.

Wasn’t a bad trail. To be fair as a beginner hiker I may be improperly leaving a review, but I found it very hard to navigate. I couldn’t find the canyons, and we left with several tics, but that’s also Kansas. The beach was a nice treat afterwards. I’d give it another try now that I found this app- maybe I could actually navigate myself. Also, beware, use safety for rattlesnakes. I did see one about a half mile down the trailhead

Great trail, but I would have classified it as moderate rather than easy. Some points on the trail require climbing steep rocks.

Very Sandy trail. Most definitely not good for mountain bikes. Only certain parts of the trail were hard packed enough to be able to ride. Great views.
