Well maintained walking trail. High traffic even though it was a cold day. Has a few Spurs off into the woods but mostly just walking around the playground, field, and lake.

Walking

If you’re after a well known and well maintained city trail, this is for you. Most of the trail is out in the open. Plenty of people off to the side fishing and walking their dogs. The geese are plentiful, and it shows. *Hint hint* There wasn’t what I would call “high” traffic. I passed less than ten people throughout the entire trail on a Saturday evening in June. There are baseball, softball, and soccer fields throughout. Found some woodpeckers back in the east leg under all of the foliage. Just your quintessential city park trail.

I'm not sure I'd call this "hiking", but it is a nice walking path.

Good walking/Running around the park. Only bad thing is all the Geese around the park. In some areas, you have to dodge all the poop on the sidewalks. But, still a nice park!

Great park. Derby has invested and continued to invest in making this a great place to go for outdoor activities. The hiking trail is easy and winds along a creek in the east side of the park. Even though this park is very active, wildlife, especially birds are found all over. The paths around the lake are wide sidewalks with signs that clearly show different distance options. Something new to the park is the story walk, which is updated monthly,.

City Park, great winding paths that dip into trees at one location. Short hiking trails off paths along creek. Bathrooms and porta toilets. Surrounding soccer fields and the pond. Kids play area also.
