Fun ride, but the ticks were awful and the terrain was rough!
I’m not a fan of prairie trails, but I thought I would check out the lake cuz why not. The trails are many and well maintained, would be awesome to ride a horse at full blast through the field. Unfortunately, prairie hikes just aren’t that fun so I cut this one short.
Mostly a prairie trail. If looking for wooded area trail, this one is not for you. Lots & lots & lots of ticks - we used permethrin infused clothing & a 7.5 oz bottle of 40% deet bug spray that still could not keep them off of us. Blazes were good, but trail still difficult to follow.
Decent little park with some good photo opportunities. I drove over an hour to get here and you pay a $5 entry fee so I didn’t feel it was quite worth it. However it was completely dead and I ran into no one for 3 hours which is nice for me because I like to let my dogs run around and go crazy.
