Well-marked trail. Nobody else using at at 11 a.m. on a weekday. Best to go when it hasn't rained in some time; some areas, especially hillsides and near creeks, were still muddy.

I did this hike in early April on a day with excellent weather. As with all things outdoor the weather influences the experience. *Well marked trail *Gentle ups and downs *Typical NE Kansas flora Very nice that the blue trail and white trail are in close proximity. It makes for a nice loop hike.

I did a loop from the main parking down around the trout pond and back. Did 5.75 miles right about 2 hours. Makes for a nice hike for the midwest. Winds through mature Woodlands and back around near lake. I would say moderate is accurate. Some of it is rocky which I enjoyed. On a thawed January day most of it was muddy. Trail can connect to additional trails by the trout pond if you want to extend it. You can also cut the loop short in several spots throughout the trail if needed.

Watch your feet the whole time you are hiking or running. This trail Is filled with rocks of all sizes along the entire path, and tree roots. We did have a lot of fun hiking this one.

Extremely technical in some areas. I will definitely come back when there more time. Started raining in the middle. Had to take the road back to the vehicle.

I’ve run trail races here. It is very technical and very rewarding. Gorgeous views once you get out of the trees.

Clean trails, some parts are a bit precarious- watch ya step. Lake views. Lots of webs. Great incline for the butt!

The trail was beautiful, but the state park map was incorrect.
