The Chisholm Creek Park trails are 4 looped trails (Quail, Heron, Bluestem, and Cottonwood), one an extension of the one before it. I elected to do the trails in figure 8 patterns using all the connectors as to cover all of the trails. This was about 2.5 miles. This was the dry season, so the water levels were down. There are boardwalks and bridges to traverse the wetlands and go across the creek. No bikes, skates, or dogs are allowed on these particular trails. The Great Plains Nature Center is also very nice. Note that when school is in session, Wichita and surrounding school districts will use this park for field trips, but the students are guided by park volunteers and staff.
