Paved trail with trees on both sides. There are multiple short bridges to cross and a bench at one bridge. Multiple bird houses have been placed along the way and regular maintenance of the trail is obvious, which is nice. There is a housing district past the trees on the north side of the trail in part of the area and a double highway to the south of the trail. So unfortunately you get a lot of city noise, but it is a very pretty trail when the trees are full. A lot of bike riders. There are signs with information about the trees, eagles, etc. at the beginning of the trail and at about the half way mark.

Really nice bike trail. I've never done the whole thing, but the parts I have seen are very nice. Riding out of Adel towards Redfield there are lots of tasty mulberry bushes over hanging the road, and also a view of a very rustic and scenic brick factory. In Perry there is the very bike friendly Hotel Waukee, which we have stayed for an overnight, multi-day bike ride on the trail.
