A beautiful lake to kayak, especially during the lotus blooming season in July/August. There is a nice park and marina off Willow Dr. on the Iowa side of the lake with boat ramps, so entry/exit is easy.

This was flatwater kayaking. If you like to paddle I highly recommend this lake during the lotus blooming season - July/August. In addition to the lotuses display it is also fun to see airplanes take off and land at the Epply airfield. There is a nice park and marina off the Willow Dr. on the Iowa side of the lake with boat ramps, so entry/exit was a piece of cake! Can't find the name of the park, but it was not the Buddy's Marina. You will see some pantoon and motor boat traffic, but no worries - the speed limit is 5 miles per hour. No wake.
