Trevlac Bluffs Nature Preserve is a 1.5 mile out and back trail located near Nashville, Indiana that features a great forest setting and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking and nature trips.
Beautiful trail with some great views!...at least during winter. I highly recommend. Well marked trail but I had an issue finding where to go. I didn’t see a sign off hwy 45. I eventually found it turning onto old hwy 45. It looked like a private drive right before you go over the creek bridge. Well worth it.
Pretty views of the hills, especially now without the leaves! Noticed that the recording on here says the trail is 1.5 out and back, but if you cross the driveway, the trail continues a short while and includes a look out with a bench, making it 1.3 miles one way for a total of 2.6 or so miles.
Entrance is on 45. Easy to find. This is a Nice flat loop. There was a sign posted about a “clean up” in progress and there were logs and limbs piled up at trailhead. Trail was very nice and clean, arrows the entire way, we had no problem staying on the trail unlike some of the previous posts that mentioned over grown trail being difficult to follow. It was a cold rainy day but this would be fun in warmer weather, nice small beach for swimming in the creek. Creek was frozen today. Beautiful preserve!
Made it to the sign that states to turn around. A little before that point is a nice bench with a lovely view which was a nice place to pause and enjoy the scenery. With the trees bare, we were able to see a few houses along the trail.
This was nice! This nature preserve has two trails and my recording has both of them. It's a pretty spot! Would be great for smaller kids or a trail run.
The short hike was great for a fall evening after work. A few gradual inclines, but nothing too strenuous. I'm glad some of the reviews gave tips about the sharp right veer off or I would have missed it. I turned back when I got to the private driveway. The signs on the other side of the driveway said it was the Yellowwood Trail. After a little research when I got home, it seems as though you can continue on the Yellowwood trail For awhile longer - looks like 2.6 miles total out and back. The sycamorelandtrust.org website has more information and a map. There is a second trail in the preserve which is a loop, and the parking is a little farther North East on state road 45. I will be going back to hike the trail in its entirety.
We really loved the trail to the creek from 45 in the Spring. Went several times to see frogs laying eggs and tadpoles later. But when we went last week, it was very overgrown and consequently VERY buggy. Also very swampy on the trail to the creek. Just a part of this time of year, but want others to know to be prepared.
Nice trail with beautiful views. There is a turn that really hard to see and not marked. As you’re approaching a downward hill toward a private cabin, look for an unmarked turn to your right. If you hit the sign indicating the end of Sycamore Land Trust property, you’ve gone too far and need to backtrack about 30-40 feet to find the turn.
trail south of creek is out and back, not loop. Our map shows a loop trail. Trail does have beautiful views over the bluffs.
