Once you get beyond the tall steps,I would describe the trail as easy moderate. it was medium crowded but not uncomfortable. nice views, pleasant walk. took us closer to 35 minutes.

HikingGreat!

Lots of great views and up and down trail. My only complaint was how busy and crowded it was.

Easy trail. Steep stairs at the beginning and end and it is a little busy at 3 pm with lots of families

My kids and I just did this trail for the first time back in the fall. It was very pretty. I especially liked the stand of pines near the end/beginning (depending on which way you go). It's easy terrain and perfect for a quick little nature walk or those that have hiking buddies with little legs. ;)

Very narrow around the lake, hard for dogs and to pass

Starting at the nature you go down a rather rooty trail and then descend down a large stair case. Once you go about a 1/2 mile or so you get the the lake and it is a loop. It is beautiful and the trees are starting to turn fall colors. The trail around the lake is not stroller friendly and can be reached not going up and down from the nature center. There are lots of gnats so you will get your protein if you walk with your mouth open. If it rains..it would definitely be muddy! I couldn’t walk really fast because I had to watch the ground rather than look up so I didn’t trip over roots..minor details.

Absolutely loved this trail- my boyfriend and I completed this loop fairly quickly with his parents- we were visiting from Nashville, TN and have done dozen of trails there, but we were very happy with how enjoyable this one was!! Very well maintained, very very rooty. We absolutely loved it, we cannot wait to explore more of BCSP!!

Good short trail. Some stairs around midway down to the lake. Lots of people fishing. Small waterfall off the trail. No mud on 7/25/2020.

This is an out and back trail starting usually (preferred) from the lake. Very popular trail so expect lots of families and larger groups on nice days. Nature Center at midpoint, before turning back, makes a great restroom stop and opportunity to watch the squirrels no wait I mean bird feeders.

Busy trail for June. Many people fishing and walking dogs. The trail itself was well maintained with many wooden stairs.

Good trail through hilly beech forest with plenty of elevation change. Steps in the steepest sections. Highly trafficked, but well-maintained.

Simple, easy trail with several stairs. The lake had some pretty views. This was the first hike I took my dog on and he managed it wonderfully.

We created our own trail for this loop. We walked down to the lake and then threw the horse camp area. There weren’t a lot of good options to get back to our campsite so we came back up a road that was steep at times. However it was still a nice walk. There were some nice open areas of grass and the lake was really pretty even though the algae was coming out. Some nice scenic overviews of the hills O Brown up there

Family trip for New Year's Day, 7 and 8 year olds led 90% of the way. Fun downhill start with loop around the lake then back up for the finish! Over 400 stairs round-trip, but plenty of natural, well-kept trail.
