RunningGreat!

Yes, this trailhead is permanently closed! The trail is still accessible through the Starling Nature Sanctuary just to the East. The trail is wonderful with great views. It’s actually larger than the AllTrails map indicates. It’s more like 3-4 miles with a loop on it. It also connects to the Eagle’s Crest trail giving you upwards of 14 miles to run, hike and enjoy.

This connects from the Starling Nature Sanctuary two the original Trail that I wanted to walk. Parking is no longer allowed at the trail head which is why you have to take the wooden connector trail.

It’s gorgeous! We didn’t complete the trail but definitely will come back. Beautiful butterflies, wildflowers galore. What a delight.Park at Starling Nature Sanctuary & head west on the trail to hit the wood planks that lead you to the west loop trail. Prepare to be elevated in more ways than one!

We got lost at one point, but besides that, it’s a nice loop that’s pretty easy to walk on, and the view of the water at the top is pretty cool!

The trail was great and definitely moderate which I enjoyed. It was marked decently but hate to see at time. However, this could be due to the time of the year and excessive leaves on the ground. Overall a wonderful hike and will return! Also** this trail is not inside the actual park and therefore you do not have to pay to hike it. Another added benefit

This trail was awesome! Highs and lows for Indiana. Quite a bit of mud, but that was expected after it rained for days here. I had a lot of fun with the family!

Nice, easy quick trail to spend some quiet time in the woods by the water. You may come across someone fishing.

1.51 bpm at 1.4 miles Lots of Hills Lots of brush/branches on trail Before the hike I wasn't really feeling like going because of some personal stress but afterwards I felt more ready to do things.

This trail was very nature. The actual trail had a lot of fallen trees and other natural debri in the way. It was easily stepped over but still. The trail itself was very narrow and was only a one person at a time thing. I liked it. It had good views of the odd water area. I liked how hilly it was too. Would do again! I was tired after because it was so hilly. The elevation was pretty high. I think the highest we have been yet.

Very hot. There were some logs in the trail in which we had to step over. Also had to hop over a couple of mini streams. There were some sticks that were large enough to disrupt our speed, which was a brisk pace. There was a lot of mud that made things a little slick. I felt that my mood was worse after the hike because I felt physically exhausted afterwards. This might have been because I hadn't gotten a lot of sleep the night before, but I felt that this hike did not improve my mood.

The trail was very interesting. The condition of it was well maintained. Pete’s organization has done a good job on this project. My heart rate was about 110 throughout the hike. My mood was looking forward to hiking and was well pleased with the experience.

Overall, this trail was really nice! We had a great change in elevation which was explained that they had to do due to the drainage. The trail was good condition, I wouldn’t say it was in perfect condition but trails rarely are. At the lower points there was definitely a lot of mud due to the recent rain as well as drainage. There were also a lot of sticks and trees down which I’m guessing is from the recent storms. There were also many beautiful views on the trail at the higher elevation levels! Overall, it was a really nice trail and I would definitely recommend it to others!

The trail was very thin which did cause a problem when we came into contact with a hiker from the opposite direction. Overall, this was a very fun and moderate hike! The scenery was gorgeous and very peaceful!
