The trail is absolutely destroyed by horse tracks and covered in horse manure. It is also not very well marked, but there are plenty of beautiful views. There are also a ton of ticks.

Not recommended until trails are marked. Trails do not correspond to maps, horses have been on walking trails, easy to get lost. It was disappointing.

We got a little lost as we wanted to see the falls and creek beds and trails were poorly marked but totally worth the trip (after many detours in order to get there).

Muddy from lots of horses going through, trail not well marked. Still a fun hike though, we enjoyed it :)

beautiful terrain. however, the horses have absolutely destroyed the trails. in some areas that were muddy in the past, the trail is 15 feet or more in width. it looks like a Civil War supply train went thru here.

Muddy but we expected that. A large part of the trail had been torn up from horses, when the trails are clearly marked for no horses.

This area of the state forest is really beautiful. Lots of varied terrain. However, BEWARE: the trail maps shown here, both dotted and red line, are very inaccurate. They’re barely useful for orienting, and getting lost is not an unreasonable possibility. I’ve been using AllTrails for years and never had this problem before, but just be careful! Trails were not too muddy when I was there (5/3/20) aside from a few stretches, but could turn into a real mess after rainfall.

Great trails, and many options to go explore on your own. But nearly zero signage - be sure to have a map!

Nice walk w elevation changes. Muddy during spring walk but not dangerously so...worth the 1 1/2 hour drive from Northern Indiana.

Beautiful place. It was busy, as it was the first warm day in what felt like months. Some super muddy spots as expected. Really a great place when it's not so soggy. Early spring here is fantastic as the falls will have more water. We were able to see 1 fall running and another, in a shaded area, still completely frozen. Close to home for us too!

Very beautiful place. It was a bit muddy to be expected but saw few deer multiple coyotes. Trails are well marked very difficult to get lost. And frozen waterfalls so worth the trip!

Lovely hike, even in the rain! Definitely got muddy, so bring those boots. Brought five dogs, all sizes. They all managed pretty well. Didn't take long, to complete, but was definitely worth it! Waterfalls were beautiful, the canyons were fun to traverse. Only got steep at one point, had to grab roots to steady myself as I climbed up the slick slope.
