Beautiful trail. Didn’t see a single person which I loved! The lower part of the trail nearest the river was marked as closed but I took it anyways. Only saw one narrow pass due to some erosion/slide issue and a couple of trees crossing the trail which may have been the reason for closure to horse traffic. Definitely passable on foot. Trail loop was pretty overgrown as you get closer to Blue River confluence with Ohio. Start across from the restroom parking area to knock out the elevation change first and the rest is relatively easy.

I have looked at this trail several times but the reviews were so poor that I always skipped it. But this weekend we are camping in the park and thought we’d give it a try. Honestly one of my favorite trails!!!!!! So glad I did it. There a challenging ascend in the beginning but it’s really. It that rugged and the view were Fantastic!!! Said trail was closed due to COVID but we are just rebels like that

very disappointing trail. so much trash-it would take multiple truck loads to get the trash! blown down trees requiring to go off trail into brambles. half the trail is hiking on the horse trail which is past ankle deep in ruts and mud and in some areas mid calf deep. I have hiked other areas of this park and the others trails are better kept up and drier. extremely disappointed!

Nice easy trail for a short walk. The amount of litter from the river is overwhelming and so tragic. Makes it hard for me to love this hike. Would be interested in volunteering for a planned cleanup. The blue river is pretty.

The trail is a great way to see both the Ohio River and Blue River up close. Plus, the bluff portion provides an ideal view of the Ohio at several points. If you're looking for a quick hike just skip the loop portion. You won't see Blue River but you will enjoy the elevation change and view of the Ohio.

I started at the bottom by the Ohio river. There is a parking lot there with tables and grills and a great view of the Ohio.. the trail starts out w the rOhio on your left and large rock cliffs to your right. The trail has dirt trails from a wide to very narrow width. Grassy areas as well when you start to travel north following the Blue River.

The park lists this trail as 1.5 mile and AllTrails has it at 3.1. The park also lists it as rugged, but there is only one part that has any climb to it. My iPhone said I walked 4 miles that day so probably the AllTrails is more correct. The trail does not begin and end at the same spot as it appears on the AllTrails map. If you drive the road all the way back to the river, before you reach the parking lot, you might not see one of the trailhead signs, which is across the road from a bathroom facility up in the tree line. If you enter there, you immediately climb to the top of the bluffs and the trail pops out in a large picnic area with the trail resuming on the opposite side. The trailhead in the far right side of the parking lot follows the lower part of the trail along the Ohio. About a quarter mile in there was a huge tree blocking the trail. If you enter there it is completely flat all the way to the mouth of the Blue River. Follow the trail around and back East, still flat. About half-way back from the Blue River there is an intersection of trails. Go right.. You will pass a marker for horses and just a little further is a marker for hikers on the left that is for the trail up to the bluffs. Saw bald eagle along the Ohio and deer and lots of spider webs. Trail was not well kept , overgrown and muddy in areas. Probably better views and easier to follow in Fall or Winter.

Decent hike. Went early in the day. Spiderwebs were prevalent on a hot June morning so had a stick to clear the areas in front of us. Got to see some bluffs overlooking the river. Great area at the trailhead to have lunch too

Great trail today, only saw one other couple on the trail. first climb can be tough, but its the worst one, after that it gets easier. Trail was well marked. There's a picnic shelter about half way through that over looks the Ohio River. Would be a good place to pack a lunch to. Trail was in good shape, ran into some mud on the lower section, but due to weather lately that was to be expected. Before we hiked we stopped by the Nature Center and saw their collection of snakes and turtles. They also have 2 large Oxen and 2 donkeys there on site.
