What a nice little trail! Well marked, well maintained, nice wide footpath. Probably would not want to hike it after a big rain or successive days of rain due to a few low lying areas. It’s a short flat trail and a relatively small woods. There was no place on the trail I couldn’t see an edge of the woods in the distance, but wow there were some nice big mature trees and it’s the perfect trail if you have little ones or if you’ve some physical limitations. I enjoyed it and I’ve been driving past this trail (that’s not far off the highway) for years. I will definitely be walking this again. P.S. The sign says no horses or vehicles. I saw horse and bicycle tracks.

Well managed trail. Areas normally soft have boardwalks over it. Great place to walk my dogs as it is quiet, nice trails, and has areas of water. I will be back.

We noticed the comment about it being easy to get off trail in one spot--Central Indiana Land Trust has rectified that issue with improved trail markings.

Wet spring means muddy trails. One area was easy to get off trail as well. Mostly well marked though.

First to Review

Meltzer Woods is a designated old growth forest. The woods are a 60 acre tract managed by the Central Indiana Land Trust. Only one trail and is flat and a short distance. Surrounded by corn fields it will probably be a refuge for deer once the harvest starts. A good place if you need a quick hiking fix. One thing it has that many trails don't have, a portable restroom in the gravel parking lot.
