Lawrenceburg/Aurora Trail is a 7.3 mile out and back trail located near Greendale, Indiana. The trail is rated as moderate and primarily used for road biking and mountain biking.
Hiked from aurora, starting, hiked 2 miles in and then back out. It's a nice paved trail. Wildlife, river, pond, etc. black rat snake on bridge, very cool.
Plan on hiking in its entirety soon.
Although not as long as some other paved trails, it's my favorite because of how varied the surroundings are. The part of the trail by 275 is not connected to the rest of the trail, so it is best to start just west of the Hollywood Casino. You can park on the street or probably even park at the casino.
You go right along the river, then through a few tunnels, into a wooded area and crossing a few cool bridges.
You could stop and eat in either Aurora or Lawrenceburg. Both have small town feels and a number of small shops. Lawrenceburg seems to have a lot more money put into it's downtown (by the casino) but both have charm. In Aurora I also saw 2 hydroplanes take off from the river, plus there is a historic mansion up on the hill which is worth checking out.
Out and back ended up being about 11.5 miles.
