This is a running, biking or walking trail. It is not hiking. Mostly shaded, wide paved path. Only a handful of people out at 8-9am on a Saturday.

Typically not a fan of out and back trails. Though this is scenic and well maintained.

We enjoyed riding bikes on this trail. Easy riding. Needs better signage to get through Aurora. Best views of river south and east of Aurora. Don't miss that section. Wish it was longer.

This trail has long been a favorite of mine. No matter what time of year, walking, jogging, cycling, it's just an awesome trail. That said, be sure to see it in early summer at dusk or dark when the fireflies are out en mass! it's stunning and magical!

Great bike trail - tunnels go under the road, Aurora and Lawreneburg are fun little towns, plenty of good spots to grab a bite to eat.

Lovely path by the river. Entire path is paved and we love taking our dogs here for a nice walk and to bird watch. We have seen lots of unique birds here in the past month including Blue Grosbeak, bald eagle, osprey, double crested cormorant, and several species of woodpecker. Also has a dog watering station at the beginning and dog park to let them off leash.

Lots of mosquitoes due to being near the river. Not much shade but there is some. Good for a family biking outing.

Nice flat trail near the river. If you can get past the industrial part, it becomes quite nice. Cool bridges, river views, old railroad tracks, tunnels.

Nice level trail, a little narrow for two way traffic. Nice River view, with frequent benches. No shade, though. I f it was closer to me, I would make it a part of my rotation.

Mostly shady and flat with somewhat pretty views of ponds and river. However, many unappealing industrial sights, too. Bridges and tunnels add variety but are not picturesque. I would not travel far to use this trail.

Hiked from aurora, starting, hiked 2 miles in and then back out. It's a nice paved trail. Wildlife, river, pond, etc. black rat snake on bridge, very cool. Plan on hiking in its entirety soon.

First to Review

Although not as long as some other paved trails, it's my favorite because of how varied the surroundings are. The part of the trail by 275 is not connected to the rest of the trail, so it is best to start just west of the Hollywood Casino. You can park on the street or probably even park at the casino. You go right along the river, then through a few tunnels, into a wooded area and crossing a few cool bridges. You could stop and eat in either Aurora or Lawrenceburg. Both have small town feels and a number of small shops. Lawrenceburg seems to have a lot more money put into it's downtown (by the casino) but both have charm. In Aurora I also saw 2 hydroplanes take off from the river, plus there is a historic mansion up on the hill which is worth checking out. Out and back ended up being about 11.5 miles.
