This would be a great moderate trail with relatively easy access to the White River however it was very busy on a weekday and there was trash everywhere. The dirtiest hike I've ever been on.

Great natural getaway from the hustle and bustle of Indy. Very accessible and well built up trails. Very dog friendly.

I hiked this on 10/14/2019. Half of the trails are under construction and are closed, so that was disappointing. The trails that were open were great; not difficult at all. There is some elevation gain and I watched a raccoon down by the White River. I would return when all trails are complete.

Multiple well-marked trails to choose from. Nothing too difficult, I would rate as easy.

Multiple trails make up this listing. I somewhat followed the trail map here but got off track towards the end. Trails are well marked. Runs along White River.

We enjoyed this trail! We are newer to hiking trails and aren't very good and following the few maps we did see, but we had an adventure! We started behind the nature center and just wandered through. Some parts are paved, but most is dirt. Some sand closer to the white river. Some parts overgrown, but still passable, you just get whacked by a few branches. There are steps involved, but not a ton. We will be back, it's very pretty for a free trail!

A well shaded and maintained path. Lots of stairs out of stone and wood. Takes you down to the white river. Lots of play structures and a small nature center. Lots of bird watching around the nature center.

Nice hike with lots of options, can put several trails together to make it as long as you want. Nice elevation changes. A little muddy in spots but there was LOTS of rain yesterday.

This was great in early April to view spring flowers but a bit muddy. Easy hike with some stairs if you go down by the river. Water available for drinking.

Fantastic park for kids of all ages. The trail was muddy and we unfortunately weren't able to go any further because of it, but to be expected since it just rained a bunch. It was a gorgeous day, so there was a lot of people there. Other than those things we will definitely go back, multiple times.

Highly recommend when it’s covered in snow, you’ll forget you’re in the middle of Indy!

Great park in Indy. Nice hike down to the river. Nice ruins. Dog friendly. Stone steps. Good area to explore. Saw two fawn playing in the creek, a bonus!

Nature trips

I loved this park. It’s really peaceful and it’s huge. Took me two trips to cover it all. Granted I left the first day because it was just too humid for me to handle. On a nice day it would be easy enough to cover it all but would take a few hours. Big playground for kids and I think there’s also a building with family activities as well but never went in as a solo hiker.

The best part of the hike was the ruins. The hike, itself, was a bit disappointing. Portions of the trail was closed, the trail was poorly marked, and was far more on the easy scale than moderate.

Favorite park in the area! Great for a quick hike with the kids, easy for my 4 year old but also fun for adults. Walking from the ruins to the river is the best part for kids. Also a fun playground on site.

What a pleasant surprise! I liked the ruins and the open spaces, and I loved how extensive the trails were for the space. Lots to see and explore, and a very manageable challenge for someone as out of shape as I am.
