Walnut Trail also known as mountain bike trail #2 at Harmonie State Park is a 2.5 mile forested trail that winds through steep hills into deep ravines. The intermediate level trail is currently an out and back trail and can be ridden in both directions. The current mileage listed for this trail may be off as it is still being expanded. New features include dirt berms, log rides, and a "rock garden." This trail may also be combined with the beginner level Sycamore Loop (Mountain Bike Trail #1 on the park map) for an extra 4 mile of single track.
nice walk marked well
Please ignore the two other reviews for this trail as they were for walking trail number 4. For some unknown reason the enty for walking trail number 4 was merged with mountain bike trail number 2, also known as the Walnut Connector.
Fun day out...We walked this trail in the winter. The lack of foilage allowed us longer views and we were able to see turkeys and deer. It is a easy and enjoyable hike.
The trail follows for the most part an old road bed through the woods. Nothing spectacular. Other trails show more promise.
