Fowl Sanctuary South Overlook Trail is a 5.3 mile heavily trafficked loop trail located near Zionsville, Indiana that features a lake and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
A partially paved, partially gravel multi-use loop with beautiful views of the lake.

March 30, 2021A little side of nature left at the edge of Indy, very pretty park and I loved the water bridge part, something I never seen til this park. Lots of road crossings but overall a nice well kept park
March 21, 2021Heads up, it does cost $6 to get into the park (out of state resident) and they do take card. But the trails have dried up and there's hardly any mud. Plenty of different looks around the park and very simple to manage. Can be busy but overall enjoyable and the walk around the lake is very enjoyable.

March 6, 2021Super duper muddy throughout the hike today (3/6/2021). But overall I loved this trail. The signage of this trail was superb, you will definitely not get lost. :) loved that you get to see all aspects of the park on this hike. You literally hike through all of it!

October 10, 2020I ran the north loop today. Weather was gorgeous. The trail was in good shape. A couple places, though, where another sign would have been helpful--I paused to check the map and confirm which way to turn when two paths crossed. A little crowded in places, but not bad to navigate. Was able to find parking near a picnic area.
September 22, 2020This is our favorite Saturday morning hike. The dogs LOVE Eagle Creek! No shade around the lake, but the dogs love to get in the water for a swim. People are nice, not too busy early morning.

August 24, 2020July 19, 2020Trail was pretty busy and signage was not great. I advise you bring your phone to view it on a map. Overall a decent trail but more civilized than I typically like with parts of the trail being in roads and gravel walkways.
July 2, 2020There’s a huge section we had to walk on roads- beautiful park- the trail kicked our butts sheerly cuz mileage and I’m out of shape! Enjoyed it tho
June 10, 2020Beautiful hike, but I thought the signage was confusing, definitely had to follow GPS map otherwise found myself going off trail quite a bit. Will definitely do this again next time I’m in town to see if my navigation skills have improved!
