Wooded hike, along creek, hilly terrain This is a nice relatively short hike through an open woodland. The trail initially drops, where it runs parallel with a small creek. It follows the creek for roughly one half a mile. There is a wooden platform built, overlooking the creek and a small waterfall, if water levels permit. The trail then climbs away from the creek through a slightly more open wooden section, and finally back to the trailhead.

An easy but scenic hike. Some nice looking small creeks running along the parts of the path makes for some great nature pics.

Great morning hike with the kids. Plus the playground at the end is an added bonus!

Relatively new to hiking and now working to expose my kids who are 6 and 4 to the activity, this trail starts off with a light warm up and then gradually gets a bit more challenging (specifically for my kids). The creek bed and water was a great break as we spent a lot of time resting and having fun. Nice trail.

Easy trail, I recommend the years pass for 50..... you can explore the trails often and visit other Indiana parks.

Nice short trail. Saw a hedge apple. Big green gorge. Creek was very dry so no water falls, but went early evening and saw two doe deer.

Wonderful of rocks and waterfall. Perfect hike for a beginner.

Definitely a pleasant trail in an unexpected location. It's pretty for an Indiana trail. It is also just the right length and has just enough scenic variety and difficulty to make it a good trail for when you wish to hike something more than just a short, easy trail.

Shade covers all but a few short sections of the trail, so it should still be pleasant during hot days. As always, bring some water.

While stopping to enjoy the sites and to take some pictures, it took about an hour, though less time should be more than doable.

Nice little loop by the creek side

We enjoyed the trail but were disappointed that there was no water flowing from the waterfall areas. It was relatively dry with standing water. I would do it again if I was limited with time but I'll probably look at some of the other trails before coming back.

A fun hike that my 4yo enjoyed even though she slipped on the rock steps in the final third of the trail. Thankfully the canopy provided lots of shade on one of the hottest days of the year.

My most favorite trail in Charlestown State Park. A nice, peaceful, easy, relaxing trail with a lot of good scenery in a little over a mile long trail.

Very nice scenic walk. Great for a beginner or for someone that just wants to get out and experience a very nice site. Hiked it today. How many 50 degree days do you get in the Louisville area?
