This trail consists of Whitetail Deer, Coyote, Squirrel, Badger, Mink, and Prairie Dog trails. There are several trails at Willoughby Heritage Farm. All are accessed by passing through the "farm", which is a collection of farm buildings with a small variety of farm animals (chickens, goats, etc.) mainly focused on children. The trails in the woods behind the farm appear to be generally well maintained, some wood chipped, rather hilly and quite pleasant to hike. The trails weave through the woods across several bridges through a stream valley.

The trail is rated easy due to it being well-cleared and mulched...but the hills are quite a work out! This is not the trail for a calm nature hike...we use it as a fitness trail and run up the inclines. Families will do well, but beware for those with knee issues or not able to walk up steep inclines.

Nice trail, decent amount of hills but 2 young children made it through. Lots of arrow markings to guide you. We did the red trail and liked it.

Red trail is a great hike for a family with two girls of ages 5 and 9. it took us about an hour. Trailhead and parking for the trails was hard to figure out for the first time. Trails open dusk to dawn. Farm not always open so just park in the REGULAR visitor parking lot and walk thru the farm to the other side of and look for colored arrows. Shady trail and beautiful scenery. Kids loved it. More moderate than easy with hills which can get muddy after a night of rain. Afterwards enjoy the free farm amenities if it is open.

A lot of up and down, but overall a good trail. Markers were a bit confusing and it did seem longer than 1.5 miles, but we figured it out.

Very short, but there are a couple brutal hills here. Also, you can pet the animals and it's free!

Walking

Steeper than we expected. We looped by accident because the markings are confusing at best. Lovely place but have realistic expectations.

We improvised a bit! Trail is marked a lot, but not marked well. Markers are confusing at times. Farm is awesome for the kids!
