Starting from the parking area, the trailhead is on the southwest side of the mowed area, about 40yrds from the concrete. About 1/2 mile in, you will come across the first of two small streams, which are great for kids to play in, as they're not too deep. The second stream follows about 8/10 mile later. Between the two, on the southernmost point of the trail, there is a quick stint along a field, which can get tricky if the vegetation is up high.

Trail was very narrow in places with grass growing into it. Whenever I see that I worry about ticks, as I became infested with ticks once on such a trail in St. Louis area and once on such a trail in northern Wisconsin. Where the trail is wider there are big muddy pits or trenches in the middle that you have to navigate around. We did the first half of the loop, but then had to turn around because the trail we were supposed to take to turn to take the second half of the loop was complelety overgrown. The trail is just a walk in the woods. Nothing special. I did see a mom with her children playing in the stream. But, I would highly recommend going to McNaughton Park instead for playing in the river. The trails there are well maintained and the woods there much prettier.

Nice long trail. A little buggy, bit no mosquitos. A little sloppy in a few spots from the rain yesterday. A nice mix of heavily wooded trails and open fields. A little too over grown in a few spots.

Good trail, but have your GPS ready. The GPS map doesn’t exactly follow the physical trails.

Half way point of trail is overgrown and not clear. People have started using the corn field edge to rejoin the missing trail. Doable though.

Excellent trail system shared with off-road cyclists and horses. Trails are in good condition. Trail map signs posted at major junctions but the 'you are here' markers are often missing so recommend carrying a map if trying the side trails.
