Trail of Hope is a 0.5 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Nauvoo, Illinois that features a river and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for walking and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

Trail of Hope walking trail leads you to the Mississippi River bank as you walk along a split rail fence with numerous plaques with quotations from journals of Mormon pioneers. These pioneers left there homes in Nauvoo and traveled west to establish a new life.

Trail was pretty, secluded during autumn months, and had a beautiful view of the Mississippi River. There were many informational stops along the way, too.

The trail plaques gives excerpts from pioneer journals. Interesting read. great view of the Mississippie river. The walk is one of many historic sites at Nauvoo. You can spend at least two days seeing the area and for free admission. well worth the trip.
