Lots of different birds and flowers on a very well maintained trail that look new. A nice small stream meanders through the preserve and after heavy rains there can be a couple of wet crossings.

After leaving the parking lot and going up and down some steps to cross a stream, you have the choice to go left or right. We went right. I would instead recommend going left. Right takes you through an open field on a mowed path, which on a hot summer day is stifling. There were some raspberry bushes though. There are also some trails through the woods right next to the field, but they were overgrown and looked ticky. The left path is the more interesting path as you go up a very steep incline and walk among a ridge through a woods. warning though the incline is very steep. I would actually recommend hiking poles to help getting up and down the very steep incline. Oh, the creek bed was completely dry when we went. So dry you could walk down it. Which was disappointing, as what I enjoy about trails in the area are going up and down in and out of ravines with streams and walking along the streambeds at the bottom of ravines. With the interesting part of this trail you are on a ridge between ravines the whole time.

Make sure to have your map open. Some places look identical. Overall great trail

The first half of the trail is uninteresting due to it being flat and through a somewhat overgrown field. Halfway through, there is a very steep incline and decline which makes the trail moderate. The creek the path follows and the wooded half of the trail make this a good hike.

Great trail! Adult plus three kids (11, 8, 6). We did the woodland trail. The trail was very easy to follow with many marked trees. Once the trail met the creek about halfway, we walked in the creek for an alternate path. The creek had a max water level of about a foot. Easily walked for all of us. Highly recommend!!

This trail is one of my all time favorites to go to for a quick day hike. There were 3 trails in the area I saw to choose from by the entrance, I ended up choosing the middle trail which went up hill and then connected with another trail for the descent back to the parking lot. The two trails were pretty muddy at points and I saw a fox and a snake. There were a lot of bugs throughout the hike.

Great trail. Kids had fun in the creek. Lots of rain yesterday so a lot of water. Nice clean trails. We had fun

some of the creek beds with no way to cross than to get your feet wet even when it's been relatively dry. I'm sure it's worse with moderate rains.

This was an enjoyable hike for early April. Some mud and washouts, as expected, but nothing to keep you from getting out. The lower loop has a sizable hill in the first third of hike, but once you get that out of the way, its easy. Most of the trail was well marked except for the last third.

Second time out and we hiked the lower Wood loop from the parking lot this time and quickly found a seller and old foundation, super cool. Appears to have been a farm stead of sorts many years ago. I would also recommend water proof boots as water crossing is inevitable. During the winter the ice helps reduce the need but the creek has running water and needs to be crossed if you plan on completing the loop.

Very quiet and pretty trail. Pretty easy and flat if you stay on old field loop trails. A bit a challenge on the other trails if you climb the hill. Its a long climb but you only have to do it once. No major views from the top but it is still a very pretty hike.
