Great trail system at Robinson. Quite hilly, plenty of benches on the long climbs to sit and catch your breath.
Lovely. Well-kept. Nice bridges, pleasant trail. I would rate as moderate not easy because of the significant amount of hills.
Great trail. If you park in the 2nd parking lot if you’re going east on Mossville Rd, it works better. The trail link from the first parking lot to the main trail is less traveled and not very well marked - But, all you have to do is follow the stream bed and you’ll but fine. It is beautiful.
Very pretty, had a lot of terrain. The trail was a little difficult but it was cool to see the valleys. It had a lot of steep trails, but was a really fun challenge.
This is a beautiful hike! I did the full Illinois River Bluff trail. The trail head is at Camp Wokanda, then goes to Detweiler Park and back. My stats were 14.7 miles and 2690 ft elevation gain. It is definitely not for the faint of heart! I saw a ton of wildlife, including deer, opossums, wild turkeys, squirrels, tons of pretty birds and even a coyote! The bugs were not bad for the end of August! A couple miles near both ends of the trail were busy, but the middle portions of the trail were not busy at all. Also, be warned that water is turned off at all the parks and right now all the creeks are dried up. I had to make due with the water I had, which was about half as much as the water I wanted. There are bathrooms available at Camp Wokanda and Robinson Park. Overall it was a challenging, but also very fun, trail!
Good trail but very humid today. I’m a Washington resident so I’m not uae to the humidity
Like most of the trails near Peoria, very hilly. Which is great for Illinois, as only the Driftless Area near Galena and southern Illinois south of Carbondale in the Shawnee National Forest are hilly other than the Peoria area and some other areas along the Illinois River. Most of Illinois is flat and boring (I live there. Live in Chicago metro area. Though originally from Maryland and Pennsylvania). The trails in the Peoria region always remind me of trails in the East in the Appalachians or Cumberland Plateau, which I love. This trail consists of series of ups and downs, going up hills and then down across ravines cut by streams, with bridge across each stream. Series of three up and downs, crossing three streams on bridges. And I love the woods in the Peoria region, especially the stream bottom areas, very lush, Lush like areas back East in the Appalachians. Doesn't feel like are in Illinois.
Pretty good trail! Two adults four kids (15, 11, 8, 6) We went all of the almost 4 miles and it was exhausting!! There was a lot of steep elevation change to add to it. There was a cool tunnel under the highway at the end though! Also a fun creek!! Would recommend for the appropriate audience!
