Great trail with beautiful scenic lookouts! Beginning of trail is pretty steep, but our 2 little kids made it ok.

Great trail. You can feel the cool air from the small caves on the bluff. There are side visitor paths to get close to the bluff at the beginning which is fun for younger kids to have a little adventure. Don’t go after any hard rains. It was definitely muddy when we went.

Beautiful trail. loved the incline at the beginning. My 5 and 9 year olds loved it. perfect distance and challenge for them. recommend 1 adult per child.confusing when the second half merges onto a road for a bit at the end(signage is recommended) thought we would see the river and jb bridge but did not. still beautiful scenery of the floodplain farmland. got there at 8:30 and saw several people along trail. parking lot very busy at 10:15 when we left. my oldest loves to hike now after doing 4 different locations as a result of the @HeartlandConservancy #singlehike challenge.

It was difficult with little kids. Wish people would respect the social distancing act right now!

Great trail! We took two kids (6 and 3.5) in February and they did great! It’s definitely a hilly trail, but we took it slow and had a great time. The views are spectacular and the trail was marked well.

this is a beautiful trail, plenty of fall color, overlooks, and even a distant river view. the only odd part is the trail plops you out near an industrial site, and you walk along the road back to your car.

the trail wasn't bad itself but in order to find your car at the end you have to walk down a regular road that a bunch of big trucks are on. luckily there's a business right there with someone willing to help you find your way back to your car because this happens all the time. Pretty annoying

Great beginners trail when you are just starting your hiking journey. My three kids (age 10, 9, 7) did great on the two mile stretch. Nice spots to take breaks and view bottoms ground.

awesome climb right out of the gate. not at all easy. very cool views at the top. the return part of the loop (east side) is a massive downhill. at the bottom we were a bit confused on where the trail went...saw an armadillo milling around. the trail pretty much ends and you will follow the road to the right, back to the parking lot.

I went on a cold, but sunny day in February. Some spots on the trail were very slick. I wouldn’t say this is an “easy” trail and would not consider this trail kid friendly. (Too many very steep bluff cliffs.) I wanted an easy trail as I am dealing with a pretty sore calf strain. I almost turned around after slipping several times on the fairly steep climb up the bluff the first couple hundred yards. Calf was screaming at me. But I pressed on with my sidekick King. Glad we did. Clearly marked trail. Well maintained. Awesome views! And the second half is downhill! Beautiful scenery and amazing wildlife. Can’t wait to do this in the spring!
