I was trying to go to the Maple Lake 10 mile loop hike today but could not get to the start due to road closures so I used All Trails to find a close trail and am so glad I did! This hike was beautiful but extremely icy so be careful! It was 29 degrees today and very sunny so it was not too cold. At the beginning/end there is a sledding hill that you can walk up which is great exercise.... I recommend this trail but only if you are okay with ice!!

Really nice trail with some incline. If you're lucky you'll see some Deer, Cayotes, and even a bear (jk about the bear)

Great wooded trail with slight elevation changes in picturesque Palos Park IL. Crushed gravel surface shared by horse riders, mountain bikers, runners and walkers.

Great beginner trail running loop. Mostly even footing with a couple bits of elevation. Lots of spur trails to change up the hike. Beautiful fall colors.

Lots of cool things to look at ! But if you are in the mood to hear forest sounds and to get away from roads , noisy cars, ect . Then this trail might not be the one for you. Loved everything except for the one river that was right next to a highway , kind of disappointing :(

Cap saurs is a beautiful place for an easy hike. Definitely hike the eskers trail especially in the fall when some of the ground cover clears out. You don’t feel your in cook county.

Road the trail for the first time today. It was super muddy which is to be expected after all the rain we received. I couldn’t get over the amount of horse poop that was on the trail. The ground was washed away on the trail which made it super rough. The tunnels that go under LaGrange where filled with rocks that washed down from the trail.

Beautiful trail! Shared with horses so watch for lots of horse poop ;) Not too muddy today and lots of flowers and trees budding. I highly recommend.

it took me a bit to find out where to start as everything was covered in snow/ice. on a normal day footing would be pretty easy throughout trail. went on 2-23, 90% of the actual trail was covered in ice/sleet. wore trail shoes but on a summer day may be able to do with road shoes. it was just the right distance i was looking for. follow the yellow arrows to complete this loop. will come back when it is dry and warmer....oh, and the stairs are pretty cool as well but are not part of the trail.
