Nice quiet trail. There is ample shade so sunscreen isn’t mandatory. Also, I’d recommend putting on bug spray before heading off. Lots of horse waste on trail.

I bike this trail almost daily. It's a great trail except for all the horse poop. It's scattered everywhere. Some parts are like an obstacle coarse trying to ride my bike around it. Horse owners should have to clean up the poop

Very good for doing workout. Most of it is pretty flat but sometimes it goes up and down. Very nice tall trees. Woods are pretty but there is nothing special on the Trail.

Not too crowded on the first Sunday of Phase 3 reopening. Lots of horses! Can see where the trail would be muddy if we’d had rain but dry today.

Solid afternoon hike. Main trailhead is closed (construction?) as of 5/3/20 but we drove about 5 mins and easily found another starting point. Muddy in places (2-3 unavoidable), but pleasant views, very well-marked, not too crowded, and decent wildlife. We took the purple cutoff on the way back, which proved to be far prettier and more varied terrain / trail-like. This route (the yellow one) is more a dirt path and probably more interesting for bikers.

Muddy in spots today (4/27) and tons of horse manure but love this trail. Some nice elevation gains/declines and crosses over a few streams. Just under 8 miles all the way around.

Icy slushy and muddy. Managed 5 + miles relatively easy thanks to micro spikes. Everyone else slipping and sliding.

This is one of my favorites in the summer time to walk and run. Very clean and safe. The trail is shared with horses so watch for poop.. Love exploring this area. Enjoy

It's all ice now so bring hiking boots with good ankle support, trekking poles and ice cleats would help as well. We made it all around the yellow trail in a little over 3 hours including stopping at the picnic area just south of the Swallow Cliffs for a quick lunch. Also, the terrain seems pretty easy when not icy - not moderate as it's rated.

I was trying to go to the Maple Lake 10 mile loop hike today but could not get to the start due to road closures so I used All Trails to find a close trail and am so glad I did! This hike was beautiful but extremely icy so be careful! It was 29 degrees today and very sunny so it was not too cold. At the beginning/end there is a sledding hill that you can walk up which is great exercise.... I recommend this trail but only if you are okay with ice!!

Lots of cool things to look at ! But if you are in the mood to hear forest sounds and to get away from roads , noisy cars, ect . Then this trail might not be the one for you. Loved everything except for the one river that was right next to a highway , kind of disappointing :(
