A tad muddy, big incline starting out, medium traffic. Beautiful weather
Awesome trail with great views of the Mississippi River, bottomlands, cool rock formations, elevation changes. Will do again.
Well marked. I guess difficulty depends on which way you’re going. I found the beginning more challenging than the rest. Will have to do north and south next time.
Trail up was perfection - going down was a little trickier due to wash out, but still a gorgeous outing!
great, well maintained! beautiful views. great rocks/bolders to climp for the kids
Always a nice little hike. Depending upon the direction you go it’s a bit steep. Counter-clockwise is the steeper direction. Nice views at the top, and really cool rock formations and cliffs.
Love this trail. Lots of up! Uneven surface, but all natural and fun
This trail was stunning and absolutely gorgeous! It gives a great work out all the way to the top! Lots of inclines! Scenic overlook at the top was amazing! I would advise sticking to the higher trails though, if you go early in the morning like we did. We walked along near the bottom of the trail and we could barely walk because there were so many huge spiders webs with big spiders! Think I’m gonna revisit in the fall or winter!
Nice trail and well marked. Get a trail map from the Pere Marquette visitors center for more info as this trail divides off. The forest part of the trail is wide and well-cleared. Not muddy at all when we went, but dirt pack mostly, so I suppose would be insanely muddy after a good few days of rain. Doable climb to the top for a lovely view of the Mississippi. The only issue...as others have mentioned...is that some of look out areas are quite overgrown. Still a nice length hike to do with our two kids ages 10 and 14. Completely doable for any child over 5 with reasonable fitness.
